Dread hit the Get Lit Summer Celebration at the swanky Rolling Stone Lounge in Hollywood, CA Monday night, June 20th, and brought back some video from the event. Read on for the goods and the ocular candy!
Thrown by the Los Angeles post-production facility Lit Post (the company has in the past handled post production for such films as Frozen, Hatchet II and Ti West’s upcoming The Innkeepers (review here), to name a few), MPI Media and Glass Eye Pix, this second-of-many events served as an industry mixer to celebrate independent filmmaking, in particular Ti West (director of House of the Devil and The Innkeepers), on whom was bestowed the 2nd annual Persistence of Vision Award in Cinema, in recognition of his innovative spirit in independent filmmaking.
The genre-centric crowd included, among others, filmmakers Will Clevinger (Automaton Transfusion and the recently wrapped Under The Bed), Matt Zettell (Resurrection County), Adam Green (Frozen), John Michael Elfers (Finale) and Larry Fessenden (Wendigo), with actors Marc Senter (Red, White and Blue and The Lost) and Halloween series fave Danielle Harris on-hand for the festivities, as well as the guest-of-the-hour West, who abashedly accepted his Persistence of Vision Award. Revelry continued into the night as drinks flowed at the open bar to the strains of 70’ and 80’s rock (and later to the musical leanings of band Mike Hayes and the Fabulous Fly Johnson).
Lit Post’s Geno Tazioli, who organized the well-attended evening, dropped word to us following the ceremony of the next Get Lit event, scheduled for December of this year, and you can rest assured that Dread will be on hand to bring you continuing coverage.
