Karin Konoval from The X-Files’ Infamous Home Episode Returning for Season 11 in Multiple Roles

This could be some of the most interesting news we’ve heard yet for FOX’s revival of “The X-Files,” which has met with a rather lukewarm response thus far.  Fans of the show’s most controversial – and genuinely disturbing – “Home” episode are about to see a very familiar face in Season 11, although it sounds like she’ll be wearing a few sightly different faces during her stint.

Per EW, Karin Konoval (who, you may not realize, played the orangutan Maurice in the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy) will fill “multiple roles” in what’s being touted as another “rather scary entry.”

According to “The X-Files” creator/showrunner Chris Carter: “While Karin Konoval won’t be reprising her role as the mother under the bed in the fan-favorite episode ‘Home,’ she will be returning in a tour-de-force performance in an early episode. Or, more accurately — performances.”

Color us definitely intrigued!

The second chapter of “The X-Files” event series, an all-new 10-episode installment, is once again executive-produced by Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning in their roles as iconic FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Their longtime co-stars Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, and Annabeth Gish also return, as do Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose from Season 10. New this year are Barbara Hershey and Brian Huskey.

The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes, and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully (Anderson) and Mulder (Duchovny) as they investigate unexplained cases – “X-Files” – for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.

Produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Ten Thirteen Productions, “The X-Files” Season 11 will air on FOX during the 2017-2018 season.
