October. It’s that magical time of the year when the rest of the world realizes how cool the horror genre is before ignoring us for the next 11 months. As a result we’re getting sent infographics aplenty, but we’re only posting the ones which strike us as interesting. This latest breaks down favorite horror flicks in the U.S. by state. Check it out!

More info about the infographic follows…

With Halloween nearly upon us, the team at CableTV wanted to see which horror movies make the most people scream. Which horror movies are most people Googling across the United States? Overwhelmingly, it’s The Ring, coming in as the top searched horror movie in 18 states across the country.

And, not surprisingly, it seems we all love horror films that hail from our home states:

  • The Texas Chain Saw Massacre came in as top searched in Texas
  • Night of the Living Dead in the top for Pennsylvania
  • Jaws was (of course) the favorite in Hawaii
  • Alien was most searched in Alaska (cold space trumps cold weather)
