Jacki Weaver Signs for Chan-wook Park’s Stoker

And the cast for Chan-wook Park’s upcoming thriller Stoker continues to fill out nicely with the addition of an Oscar nominated actress. Such folk can never hurt a project!

According to Deadline, Jacki Weaver (pictured right), whose murderous matriarch earned her an Oscar nomination for Animal Kingdom, has signed on to star in Stoker, the Fox Searchlight thriller that was written by actor Wentworth Miller under the pseudonym Ted Foulke.

Weaver joins Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasikowska and Matthew Goode in the Chan-wook Park-directed thriller about a teen who is mourning the death of her father and has to deal with an eccentric uncle who shows up unexpectedly.

Tony and Ridley Scott are producing through their Scott Free banner along with Michael Costigan, and the project is considered a top priority for Fox given the rising profile of Park, who steered international hits Oldboy and Thirst.
