Mortal Kombat: Legacy is the Cinderella story of the geek world: What started as a low-budget, high-ambition fan film is now a widely popular web series featuring a great cast with some serious credentials in badassness.

While at the San Diego Comic-Con last week, Dread Central had the opportunity to sit down and catch up with Mortal Kombat: Legacy creator Kevin Tancharoen as well as its stars Michael Jai White (“Jax Briggs”) and Peter Shinkoda (“Sektor”) from “Falling Skies” just before they unleashed the final episode of their highly popular web series at their panel during the convention.

The trio discussed their feelings on how well-received the series has been since its debut earlier this year, where they’d like to see Mortal Kombat: Legacy go in the future now that the first cycle of the web series is done, and a whole lot more.

Check out our exclusive video interview with the guys behind Mortal Kombat: Legacy below. After you finish, be sure to check out the video that follows, wherein we chat with Jai White about Spawn and another project he was representing during the SDCC- the animated series “Black Dynamite.”
