Ridley Scott Says the Alien Franchise Is Done With the Xenomorph

I think it’s safe to say that overall director Ridley Scott’s return to the Alien franchise has been divisive. We loved Prometheus but found Alien: Covenant to be too much of a mishmash to be satisfying as either a Prometheus sequel or an Alien prequel.

And it seems Sir Ridley Scott agrees. At least in part. During a recent interview with THR, Scott said that the future of the franchise will be Xenomorph-free.

“I think the beast has almost run out, personally,” Scott said. “You’ve got to come in with something else. You’ve got to replace that. And so I was right, I was ahead of the game.”

Do you think the Alien francise is better off without the Xenomorph in future installments? Let us know below!

Synopsis:

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, members (Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup) of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think to be an uncharted paradise. While there, they meet David (Michael Fassbender), the synthetic survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. The mysterious world soon turns dark and dangerous when a hostile alien life-form forces the crew into a deadly fight for survival.
