Exclusive Video Interview: Writer/Director/Star Evan Glodell Talks Bellflower

With his debut film Bellflower, writer/director and star Evan Glodell has created a masterful work. The film centers around Glodell’s character, Woodrow, who falls in love with the free-spirited Milly (Jessie Wiseman) only to get his heart ripped out and served to him on a platter after things go awry between the young lovers.
Once things get nasty between the two, it’s an all-out brutal showdown between them and their friends to see who can outdo each other in the destructive retaliation department. Quite simply, love stories don’t get any more effed up than Bellflower, making it one of the most unforgettable films of 2011.
Recently Dread Central had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Glodell about his debut film and what he went through trying to get it made over the course of five years. We also chatted with Glodell about starring in his own film and Bellflower’s other star- “Mother Medusa,” Glodell’s own seriously badass car featuring flamethrowers that would give anyone in a post-apocalyptic world (one of the thematic elements in Bellflower is the main character’s fascination with creating a post-apocalyptic gang in the same vein as the ones in Mad Max) a reason to think twice before messing with its owner.
