In this final part of our Rise of the Planet of the Apes video interview series, we are focusing solely on Andy Serkis and the behind-the-scenes CGI magic that brings these creatures to life.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis as “Caesar”. The pesky humans are played by James Franco, Freida Pinto, Tom Felton, David Oyelowo, John Lithgow, Brian Cox and Tyler Labine. Rupert Wyatt directed a screenplay written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes opens wide in US theaters on August 5, 2011.
Andy has already given us iconic characters such as “Gollum” in the Lord of the Ring series and of course “Kong” in King Kong, and after this weekend we may need to add “Caesar” to that list! Hear from Serkis about what goes into the performance capture work of creating his character Caesar below.
