Over the last several days Dread Central has been running our exclusive video interview series with those involved in bringing the DreamWorks remake Fright Night 3D to life. Today we’ve got the final entry, featuring our chat with both director Craig Gillespie and star Colin Farrell.
In the new Fright Night Farrell portrays Jerry Dandridge, the charismatic next-door neighbor of teenager Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) who turns out to be a deadly vampire with an insatiable bloodlust. After Charlie’s best friend, “Evil” Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), goes missing, it’s up to Charlie to figure out a way to stop Jerry before he gets his paws on both Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette) and his hot new girlfriend, Amy (Imogen Poots).
Recently Dread Central sat down with Gillespie and Farrell (who’s having a banner year between Fright Night, Horrible Bosses and a slate of upcoming projects that includes Len Wiseman’s remake of Total Recall) to talk about how they approached taking Fright Night in a darker direction while still paying homage to Tom Holland’s original and whether or not there is still more in store for the characters of Fright Night if this film does well upon its release on August 19th.
Check out our video interview below, and look for more on Fright Night 3D coming your way very soon!
