CBS All Access Commits to Kevin Williamson’s New Horror Series Based on Fairy Tales
We’ve been debating joining the CBS All Access subscription streaming service for some time now, but with today’s news about their new collaboration with Kevin Williamson, it seems our minds have been made up for us!
Per THR, Williamson (Scream, “The Vampire Diaries,” “The Following”) has received a straight-to-series order for his fairy tale/horror project “Tell Me a Story,” which is based on Marcos Osorio Vidal’s Spanish series “Cuéntame un cuento.”
Williamson will pen the script and exec produce the CBS Television Studios drama alongside Kapital Entertainment’s Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor.
“Tell Me a Story” reimagines beloved fairy tales as a dark and twisted psychological thriller. Set in modern-day New York, the first season will weave stories from The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, and Jack and the Beanstalk into a tale of love, loss, greed, revenge, and murder. It joins the VOD service’s other genre offering, Jordan Peele’s “The Twilight Zone” reboot, as must-see TV as far as this writer’s concerned.
No episode count or premiere date has been announced yet so stay tuned.
