Thrash Metal Band Pens Album That Highlights Slashers From 1981
Allow me to introduce you to thrash metal band F.K.Ü., who hail from Uppsala, Sweden. These badasses have recently released an album titled 1981, where every song highlights and extols a slasher from that very same year. Their tracks focus on films like The Beyond, Ms 45, Halloween 2, The Prowler, The Burning, Friday the 13th Part 2, and more.
As the band puts it, “The idea with the new album, inspired by Corpse Mania, Night School as well as the timeless classics Halloween II and Friday the 13th Part 2, is to take the listener back to the old days, back when you and your friends went to the local video store to rent video cassettes and weren’t able to download your movies from the internet. The new album is already rumoured to be a horror experience on the same level as those old school slasher classics.”
If you’ve been looking for metal that not only embraces that frantic thrashiness of the 80’s but also tips its hat to horror, 1981 may very well become your favorite release of the year!
You can hear a few tracks from the album below and then you can purchase a copy of 1981 digitally on Bandcamp.
