Andi Matichak “Shocked and Honored” to Be Cast in Upcoming Halloween Film
With the recent casting notice of Andi Matichak still headlining the front pages of IMDb, the excitement for David Gordon Green’s upcoming Halloween reboot is at an all-time high! After many setbacks for this eleventh (or second) Halloween entry, filming is set to commence next month in Charleston, South Carolina.
Today, the Illinois-bred Matichak (“Orange Is the New Black”) shared her feelings of the casting announcement via a story on Instagram, with the personal note: “Still shocked and honored!”
She later released a statement within a post, saying,“[I] cannot express my gratitude and excitement to join this insane cast, team, and production. Thank you for welcoming me into this ever remarkable and badass Halloween family.”
Matichak is reported to play Allyson, the daughter of Judy Greer’s character. In turn, the young actress will also be featured as the granddaughter of Laurie Strode (returning from the grave with another performance by Jamie Lee Curtis). As the fresh blood of Haddonfield, it seems reasonable to think Matichak’s character will have to face off against Michael Myers at one point or another.
With cameras set to roll next month, we should expect more casting notices very soon!
David Gordon Green’s Halloween is scheduled to be released October 19, 2018.
