New Concept Art Offers Our First Look at Netflix’s Sabrina
We got some heat for covering “Riverdale,” but given that the source material contains its fair share of supernatural elements, we figured at the very least we might see an appearance by Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Little did we know at the time that instead of a cameo, she’d be getting her own series… and on Netflix no less, where her dark side can no doubt be explored in a more horrific manner than on The CW, home to her companion show, the aforementioned “Riverdale.”
If you’re as big of an Archie fan as I am, then you’re probably looking forward to the upcoming 20-episode “Sabrina”; and today we have your first look at some new concept art that was unveiled by exec producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

Aguirre-Sacasa is also the show’s writer, and Lee Toland Krieger (The Vicious Kind, “Riverdale”) is its director and also serves as an EP, joined by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Jon Goldwater. “Sabrina” hails from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
Look for more info soon as casting gets under way.
Synopsis:
“Sabrina” imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult, and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family, and the daylight world humans inhabit.
