The Rock and Shock Horror Festival, scheduled for October 14th-16th in Worcester, Massachusetts, already has an impressive list of celebrity guests, but today they added one of the most famous zombies in the history of the genre.
Howard Sherman, best known for his portrayal of the imprisoned zombie Bub in the 1985 horror epic Day of the Dead, is now an official member of the guest list for this year’s festival. Sherman has been featured in a laundry list of television shows and feature films. Among the TV programs Sherman has performed on are multiple “Star Trek” series, animated Batman and Superman series doing voice-over work, “Seinfeld,” “Home Improvement,” “The Stand” mini-series, and the dude was even on “ALF.” Sherman has made the rounds!
You might also recognize his voice from video game work in Red Dead Redemption, Devil May Cry 2 or Red Faction II. And his movie roles include appearing in Lethal Weapon 2 and that little role in Day of the Dead.
Howard Sherman (or Sherman Howard, depending on whom you ask) is only the latest name added to an incredible growing list already compiled by Rock and Shock. Some of the big names currently scheduled to appear during all three days of the festival are Robert Englund, Lance Henriksen, Bill Moseley, both Boondock Saints Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery, friggin’ Ace Frehley!, Gary and Jake Busey, Heather Langenkamp and Kane Hodder. And this is just a small sample of the full guest list. The Rock and Shock folks definitely have their shit together and, with two months to go, have a great foundation laid for this festival!
East Coasters, this is one of the biggest horror events you’ll see this year. Don’t miss your chance.
