Mutant Frogs Swim Into Strange Nature Trailer
When I was a kid, I thought that my pet tadpoles were the cutest things ever. Even when they started eating each other, I still thought that they were the most adorable things in the world, although I released them into the lake shortly afterwards.
However, after watching the new trailer for director James Ojala’s Strange Nature, I don’t think I’ll ever look at frogs in the same way again. Allegedly based on a true story, Strange Nature takes place in the backwoods of a small town where deadly frog mutations are somehow able to spread to humans.
Ojala also worked in the makeup and effects departments on major films including X-Men: The Last Stand, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, 2012, Thor, and Tron: Legacy. We interviewed him about the film back in 2016, where he talked in detail about the practical creature effects which will be on display, in addition to using real frogs on set.
Strange Nature stars Stephen Tobolowsky, Carlos Alazraqui, Lisa Sheridan, John Hennigan, and Tiffany Shepis. There’s also a ton of information on the film’s website, Facebook and Twitter accounts.
