Today in the last of our four-part video interview series for Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark (review), we bring you some choice words with producer/co-writer Guillermo del Toro in which he talks about how the project came about and how long it took him to get the movie made. He also describes why the child’s viewpoint was important to the drama of the movie.
After premiering at the Los Angeles Film Festival last month, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark finally comes out in theaters on August 26th. Guillermo del Toro co-wrote and co-produced the movie based on a 1973 telefilm, with Troy Nixey at the directing helm. Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark stars Guy Pearce, Katie Holmes and Bailee Madison.
