The Endless Gets a Dizzyingly Beautiful Poster
I promise you right now that Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s The Endless (review) is going to be one of the most talked about films of 2018. Brilliantly written, gorgeously filmed, and masterfully crafted, it’s a mind-bending illusion wrapped in a story about family, trust, and figuring out what to do with one’s past. If you’ve seen Resolution or Spring, you’ll understand the kind of horror that Benson and Moorhead create, which falls more in the dark, yet optimistic, fantasy side of the genre.
The film, which I’ve been championing for months and will be coming out in theaters on March 23 via Well Go USA, has played festivals around the world, rightfully earning praise and adoration.
Directed by Benson, who also wrote the film, and Moorhead, the films stars the directing duo alongside Callie Hernandez, Emily Montague, Lew Temple, Tate Ellington, and James Jordan.
Synopsis:
Following their Lovecraftian modern cult classic SPRING, acclaimed filmmakers Moorhead and Benson return with this mind-bending thriller that follows two brothers who receive a cryptic video message inspiring them to revisit the UFO death cult they escaped a decade earlier. Hoping to find the closure that they couldn’t as young men, they’re forced to reconsider the cult’s beliefs when confronted with unexplainable phenomena surrounding the camp. As the members prepare for the coming of a mysterious event, the brothers race to unravel the seemingly impossible truth before their lives become permanently entangled with the cult.
