Charmed Reboot Headed to the CW
Did you guys ever watch the “three sisters (Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, and Rose McGowan) are witches” tv series “Charmed” back in the day?
I didn’t but I know a ton of people who are rabid fans of the series. And it is with these friends and family members in mind that we wanted to pass along some cool news.
Earlier this morning, Variety confirmed that the CW has ordered a pilot for the “Charmed” reboot series.
The project was originally in development last year and said to take place in the 70’s, but now it looks like it will be moving ahead this year with a tale told in the modern day.
The “Charmed” reboot is based on a story by Jennie Urman (“Jane the Virgin”) who will executive produce with Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin writing and executive producing.
Brad Silberling will direct and executive produce with Ben Silverman also executive producing. CBS Television Studios will produce.
We’ll let you know when we hear more!
Synopsis:
A group of sisters discovers they are witches. Luckily for the world, they’re of the good variety. Banding together in their ancestral home in San Francisco, they work together to fight evil, with each having a specific special power. Although outwardly they are average women, with jobs, relationships, and friends, they are also powerful witches, but when they work together, their powers are enhanced. As The Charmed Ones, their destiny is to protect innocents from evil.
