Madeline Zima and Mischa Barton Team Up For Killer Surgeon Flick Painkillers

A brilliant surgeon develops the taste of human blood… Moo-Haha…

Kew Media will be looking to introduce Painkillers, a new awesome-sounding horror-thriller, to buyers in Berlin at this year’s EFM says Variety.

It’s about a surgeon that develops the taste for blood, and if that quick elevator pitch wasn’t enough to interest you, maybe the film’s cast will, which includes the paring of “Twin Peaks: The Return” star Madeline Zima (I’m sold already) and Mischa Barton.

I’m a fan of Zima and think she will be one of the biggest actress in our genre (or any other) within the next few years so I’ll be keeping a close eye out for this film.

How about you? Let us know below!

The film is directed by Roxy Shih from a script by Giles Doust who also produced, alongside Luke Barnett and Vincent Masciale and stars Adam Huss (“Power”), Madeline Zima (“Californication”), Grant Bowler (“True Blood”), Debra Wilson (“Bodied”) and Mischa Barton (“The O.C.”).

Painkillers is currently in post-production.

Synopsis:

A brilliant surgeon struggles to come to terms with the death of his son. With his life disintegrating, he discovers that the only thing that can ease his pain is the taste of human blood.
