SXSW 2018: The Cast of Perfect Slice and Dice Through Sci-Fi Body Horror

Hailing out of this year’s SXSW Convention was Perfect, an experimental sci-fi/thriller that features strong body horror elements. Written and directed by Eddie Alcazar, who produced Kuso, the film will certainly unnerve audiences who aren’t fans of self mutilation, even if it’s for a “greater” purpose.

Today, we’ve got an interview with the cast of the film, including Courtney Eaton, Garrett Wareing, Tao Okamoto, and Chris Santos, who stopped by our booth at SXSW to discuss the film’s overlap with horror, the challenges their characters faced, and what viewers can expect going into the movie!

A boy in a cold and stark modern house, in a vaguely science fictional world, is seduced by advertisements of perfection to install implantable characteristics directly into his body. The implants heal his dark, twisted visions, but come with a corporeal cost. He persists on applying them, hoping to reach perfection, but ultimately he discovers that purity of mind is not exactly as he’s imagined.

Starring Garrett Wareing, Courtney Eaton, Tao Okamoto, Maurice Compte, and Abbie Cornish, Perfect is directed by Eddie Alcazar and features music by Flying Lotus.
