Remember Bad Mojo, the Creepy Cockroach Simulation Game?

One of my great joys growing up were the FMV point-and-click adventure games on PC. Titles like Sanitarium, The 7th Guest, Phantasmagoria, and the like filled my imagination with their innovative worlds, each of which was more unsettling and haunting than the last. By adding in the live-action segments, these games attained a certain amount of charm that can’t be replicated with pure computer generated characters. Such was the case with the computer game Bad Mojo, which YouTuber RagnarRox has created a wonderful video on that you can watch below.

The game thrusts you into the shoes (legs?) of Roger Samms, a sneaky entomologist – I never thought I’d get to write those words – who has stolen money from his company and plans to flee to Mexico City. But when he begins playing with a family heirloom, a magical locket, he turns into a cockroach and must navigate the filthy building he lives in so that he can regain his human form. It’s obviously very Kafka-esque, as RagnarRox explains, and the surreal environments are exactly the kind of visuals that horror fans thrive off of. In fact, I’d wager money that the production designers of the Saw franchise played this game in their youth!

Since I loved this video so much, I figured why not bring it to you all? If you’ve got a video that you love and want to share, put it in the comments below!
