Cereal Box Mascots Get Zombified by Artist Rob Sacchetto

Let’s all agree that growing up there was a certain kind of charm whenever we’d get our hands – or stomachs, in this instance – on some horror-themed General Mills Monster cereals. Booberry, Count Chocula, and Franken Berry were all delightful and kid-friendly ways that we could bring horror outside of the screen and into our daily lives. It was cereals like those that showed me that horror doesn’t have to be confined to the pages of a book or the frames of a movie/show. It can be the art that I decorate my walls with, the jewelry I admire, the music I listen to, and so much more. If food can get in my belly (with thanks to Fat Bastard), why can’t I appreciate it elsewhere?

Enter artist Rob Sacchetto, who is known for creating zombified portraits of pretty much anyone who asks! From the likes of Greg Nicotero and Chris Hardwick to the general public who send in commissions, Sacchetto has envisioned the death face of thousands of people over more than 25 years of freelance work. And that included some of cereal’s most beloved mascots, including the likes of Tony the Tiger, Captain Crunch, Lucky, and more. You can see them all below!
