Killer Clowns Escape From Hell In Director Todd Sheets’ Clownado
The success of Stephen King’s It and the recent epidemic of people dressing as clowns has clearly stuck a nerve, because right now the makeup-clad performers are everywhere. A good example of just how popular clowns have become lately is the upcoming film Clownado, which has launched both an Indiegogo and a GoFundMe campaign in order to raise the necessary costs to make it to completion. Because why have one campaign when you can have two?
Despite its name, Clownado will not be a clone of Sharknado but with clowns instead of sharks. Instead, it’s about a gang of killer clowns who escape from the bowels of Hell itself to wreak havoc on the Earth. It may be about clowns, but this is certainly no comedy.
Director Todd Sheets’ previous films include Zombie Bloodbath, Violent New Breed, Catacombs, Fear of the Dark, and most recently, the practical FX werewolf movie Bonehill Road. Whilst Clownado (Facebook) does not yet have an confirmed cast members, we do know that it will contains buckets of gore, and will also have an overall John Carpenter vibe, with bits of Lucio Fulci thrown in. If that sounds like something you could get behind, then head over to either of the crowdfunding campaigns to help see it through.
