What Does Jason Blum Think of the First Cut of Halloween?
I’m not sure if you guys have heard or not but there is a direct sequel to John Carpenter’s Halloween coming our way this Halloween from Blumhouse, David Gordon Green and Danny McBride. Oh, you have heard of it? Sweet.
Well, since we’re on the subject, today we have word from producer and Blumhouse namesake Jason Blum that he has seen a cut of the film and is very very excited for all of us to see it as well.
“I feel really good about it, I saw a cut of it two nights ago. I think David did a terrific job,” Blum told Digital Spy. “He did everything I hoped he would do which is respect the DNA of the franchise and bring something totally new to it and we’re really very very excited for people to see it.”

Halloween is directed by David Gordon Green based on a script he wrote with Danny McBride. Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie Strode as does Nick Castle as Michael “The Shape” Myers. They are joined by Will Patton, Andi Matichak, and Judy Greer. Halloween creator John Carpenter is on board as executive producer and composer.
The anticipated release date is October 19, 2018.
