Ash vs Evil Dead Has Been Cancelled; Bruce Campbell Tweets Emotional Message
It’s looking like lackluster ratings have nailed the final coffin in STARZ’ “Ash vs Evil Dead” as the series has been cancelled. Taking to Twitter, Bruce Campbell gave an emotional message that pays respect not just to the series but also to the history of the Evil Dead franchise itself.
“Ash Vs Evil Dead has been the ride of a lifetime. Ash Williams was the role of a lifetime. I will always be grateful to Starz, Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and our tireless fans for the opportunity to revisit the franchise that launched our careers. Thank you!” Williams wrote, attaching an image of himself as Ash with the message, “Ash has left the building.”

Starring Campbell alongside Ray Santiago, Dan DeLorenzo, and Lucy Lawless, “Ash vs Evil Dead” followed the exploits of Ash Williams as he fought the Deadite hordes decades after his original encounters. Crass, violent, over-the-top, and an absolute blast, it’s a damn shame that the series is coming to an end, especially now that we’ve met Ash’s daughter, Brandy, and a fourth season may very well have allowed Raimi and Co. to pass the torch along to a new generation.
