2011 Grimm Up North Film Festival Announces First Wave of Special Guests

If you’ve lucky enough to live in or near Manchester, England, then you should definitely be planning to attend the upcoming Grimm Up North Film Festival, which runs October 6th-9th at the AMC Cinemas in the Great Northern Warehouse, Deansgate. Grimm Up North is excited to announce that MARTIN KEMP, of “Eastenders” and Spandau Ballet fame, will be attending the festival. He will be bringing his fantastic cast along and answering questions about Grimm premiere film STALKER. Come along for the Q+A with JANE MARCH and BILLY MURRAY on Friday 7th October.
Grimm Up North is also proud to announce that legendary director ROBIN HARDY will be discussing the challenges of making the sequel to his classic film THE WICKER MAN after a screening of his new film THE WICKER TREE on the evening of Sunday 9th October.
The fantastic lineup of guests for this year’s festival also includes multi-award winning producer GARY SINYOR, who will be at the UK premiere of thriller RETREAT, starring THANDIE NEWTON, JAMIE BELL and CILLIAN MURPHY, for the Opening Night Gala on Thursday 6th October; he will also be taking part in a Q+A with director CARL TIBBETTS.
LUCY DAVIS, star of “The Office”, will be coming to talk about moving Stateside and starring in her new film SOME GUY WHO KILLS PEOPLE on Saturday 8th October.
ADELE SILVA will be talking about leaving Emmerdale behind to fight monsters in new British horror comedy romp STRIPPERS VS. WEREWOLVES during the BLACK AND BLUE FILMS seminar on Friday 7th October.
Grimmfest is also very excited to welcome back acclaimed horror, sci-fi and fantasy writer DAVID MOODY, the mind behind horror flick AUTUMN and future Guillermo Del Toro film HATER, who will be in attendance on Sunday 9th October for a Q+A and book signing after the screening of THE DEAD.
