Jordan Peele’s LOVECRAFT COUNTRY Casts Its Leads
Two months ago we let you guys know that Jordan Peele was teaming up with J.J. Abrams to produce a one-hour drama series that will air on HBO called Lovecraft Country and that British helmer Yann Demange will make his U.S. TV debut directing the series’ pilot episode.
And today we have word via Deadline that Wunmi Mosaku has snagged a lead role alongside Jonathan Majors and Jurnee Smollett-Bell.
Mosaku will play “Rudy Dandridge, a hustler just like her half-sister Leticia, only her hustles haven’t paid off. Her family ties are tested when she’s presented with an offer she can’t refuse.”

The pilot was written by “Underground” creator Misha Green based on the 2016 novel by Matt Ruff. Demange will executive produce along with Peele, Green, and Bad Robot’s Abrams and Ben Stephenson.

Synopsis:
Atticus Black joins up with his friend Letitia and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father. This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.
