RAGE 2 Officially Announced By Bethesda
After being leaked by Walmart, Bethesda have now gone ahead and officially announced Rage 2 with a suitably crazy trailer. Note that whilst this trailer is mostly live action, Bethesda have also promised that a full gameplay reveal will be coming tomorrow, so watch this space.
id Software, who developed the original game, will be collaborating with Avalanche Studios, who are known for the Just Cause franchise and the 2015 Mad Max game, in order for Rage 2’s open world to be an immersive as it can possibly be. We don’t know too much else about Rage 2 at this point, although the trailer clearly suggests that the game will have a somewhat light-hearted and comedic tone, although that doesn’t mean we should expect it to be any less violent.
Rage was originally released to positive reviews on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC back in 2011, so a sequel has certainly been a long time coming. It took place in a post-apocalyptic desert wasteland overrun with mutants and monsters, although the sequel appears to be going for more of a punk rock aesthetic.
Aside from the gameplay reveal tomorrow, we can also expect to see a lot more of Rage 2 at Bethesda’s E3 press conference next month, which they have teased will be their longest yet.
