Clive Barker’s CANDYMAN 4K Blu-ray Coming Soon?

One of the best horror films of the 90’s is Clive Barker’s Candyman starring Virginia Madsen, Tony Todd, Xander Berkeley, and directed by Bernard Rose.

If you’re a fan of the film, like all of us here at Dread Central, then you’ll be pleased to know that the film (may) be getting a 4K restoration on Blu-ray in the near future.

Tony Todd passed along the news over on Twitter and you can check out the tweet below. I don’t mean to doubt the man, but in all fairness, this is not an official announcement yet, so until then, make sure to take this news with a grain of salt and bees. Like a lot of bees.

The film was written and directed by Bernard Rose from a screenplay based on The Forbidden by Clive Barker who also served as executive producer. It stars Virginia Madsen, Tony Todd, and Xander Berkeley.

Synopsis:

Skeptical graduate student Helen Lyle (Virginia Madsen) befriends Anne-Marie McCoy (Vanessa Williams) while researching superstitions in a housing project on Chicago’s Near North Side. From Anne-Marie, Helen learns about the Candyman (Tony Todd), a knife-wielding figure of urban legend that some of her neighbors believe to be responsible for a recent murder. After a mysterious man matching the Candyman’s description begins stalking her, Helen comes to fear that the legend may be all too real.
