Scream Factory Brings TCM: THE NEXT GENERATION to Blu-ray this Fall
Scream Factory revealed today that they are bringing Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation to Blu-ray this Fall. The film is the 4th entry in the TCM series and stars Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey.
This will be branded as a “Collector’s Edition” that will come with a slipcover guaranteed for three months after its original release date. The newly-commissioned artwork to the right comes to us from Joel Robinson (Silent Night Deadly Night, The Serpent and the Rainbow, Ninja III, etc). This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will the original theatrical poster design.
Extras and specs are still in progress and will be announced later in August. But we can confirm today that it will have a high-definition transfer of the theatrical cut. Scream Factory is working on obtaining the extended version and we will update you on the progress in the future.
The national street date is planned for September 25th. However, if you pre-order now for early shipping directly from Scream Factory.com you will also receive an 18′ x 24″ rolled poster of the newly-commissioned art.
Synopsis:
After leaving their prom early, innocent Jenny (Renée Zellweger) and three other teenagers crash their car in the backwoods of Texas. In their search for help, they run into Vilmer Slaughter (Matthew McConaughey), a vicious psychopath with a mechanical leg, and his twisted family, including the serial killer Leatherface. As the group of friends struggle to survive the maniacal methods of torture, Jenny discovers the secret origins behind the family’s lust for blood.
