Seyfried Joins Blumhouse’s YOU SHOULD HAVE LEFT as Bacon’s Wife

David Koepp

Kevin Bacon and Stir of Echoes director David Koepp are reuniting for a new a supernatural thriller from Blumhouse called You Should Have Left. And today we have word via Variety that Amanda Seyfried will play Bacon’s wife in the film, a role said to be “an actress with a secret.”

David Koepp will direct from his own script based on the novel of the same name by Daniel Kehlmann, which centers on a screenwriter in a remote house in the Alps working on a sequel to his hit film along with his younger wife and a six-year-old. The writer begins to lose his bearings thanks to unexplained occurrences.

Blumhouse describes the film as an “unsettling story of a wealthy man with a younger wife and a 6-year-old child. Mistrust and suspicion characterize their marriage while they are in a remote location that may or may not be obeying all the physical laws of the universe.” Moo-Haha.

Bacon is producing with Blum. The film is set to go into production later this year.
