E3 2018: WE HAPPY FEW Story Trailer Really Loves Creepy Masks
During the Microsoft Xbox showcase, a story trailer for Compulsion Games’ We Happy Few was shown and damn does it love showing off some creepy masks! Going deeper into the story, we are taken into a world where happiness is forced upon the citizens and those who do not conform are sought out with the most malicious of intentions. Check out the trailer below!
We’re going to be speaking one-on-one with the devs at this year’s E3, so keep checking back for more information later this week.
“We Happy Few is the tale of a plucky bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial. Set in a drug-fueled, retrofuturistic city in an alternative 1960s England, you’ll have to blend in with its other inhabitants, who have their own set of not-so-normal rules.”
Wellington Wells, the city in which the game takes place, is procedurally generated and players will be able to craft items, scavenge supplies, use deadly weapons, and choose from an assortment of difficulties. Complete with interwoven storylines and a rogue-like platform, We Happy Few will ensure that no two playthroughs will ever be the same.
A video game-to-film adaptation is in the works through Gold Circle Entertainment and dj2 Entertainment. Gold Circle’s Paul Brooks and dj2 Entertainment CEO Dmitri M. Johnson and Chief Content Officer Dan Jevons will produce the project with dj2’s Stephan Bugaj serving as executive producer.
We Happy Few will be coming out August 10 for PC, Xbox, and PS4. Pre-orders are already open through the game’s website.
