One of the more curious titles to be revealed at E3 is Untitled Publisher’s (yes, that’s their name) Overwhelm. Described by developer Ruari O’Sullivan, “…it’s horror-world Megaman. You fight bosses, but your enemies get the powerups – not you. You’re outnumbered, low on ammo, being hunted. Paranoia sets in.” Count us in!
The game features a sparse yet constantly dangerous map, enemies that grow stronger while you remain the same, unforgiving combat (one hit and you’re dead, three deaths and the run is over), and a badass synth-heavy soundtrack. I have a sneaking suspicion that this pixel-driven game is going to attract a lot of attention.
“You’re outnumbered, low on ammunition and the paranoia sets in. This is an action horror-world where enemies get power-ups and you don’t.”
Overwhelm is available to purchase right now on Steam.
