E3 2018: THE SINKING CITY Cinematic Trailer is an Exercise in Surreal Madness

A new teaser trailer for Frogwares’ The Sinking City has been released and it’s undoubtedly eerie. While no gameplay is shown, it certainly helps set a mood where the protagonist is shown that he might not be in full control of his actions or choices. If that element plays into the actual game itself, I wonder just how much we’re going to be fighting against ourselves and not just the enemies of Oakmont…

Can you hear that voice in your head getting louder and louder? That’s me. This is not the last time we will talk…

Taking place in the 1920s, The Sinking City is a game of adventure and investigation set in an open world inspired by the works of the famous American horror author H.P. Lovecraft. You will step into the shoes of a private investigator who arrives in the city of Oakmont Massachusetts – a city suffering from unprecedented floods of supernatural origins. You must uncover the source of whatever has taken possession of the city – and the minds of its inhabitants.

The Sinking City will be released later this year for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. To learn more about The Sinking City, make sure to read our interviews with Narrative Lead Sergey Ten and Concept Artist Andrey Roscha.
