Augmented Reality WALKING DEAD Game Launching Next Month
We all knew that Pokémon Go was going to be a huge hit, but if you told us back in 2016 that it was going to be popular enough to inspire a similarly themed Walking Dead augmented reality game, we would probably have burned you as a witch. But it’s really happening, and it looks pretty sick.
The game will be called The Walking Dead: Our World, and will allow players to use their mobile devices to hunt for augmented zombies across their neighborhoods, although instead of catching them in Poké Balls, you’ll instead be blowing their brains out with the help of fan favorite characters from the show including Rick, Daryl, and Michonne. In addition to killing zombies, you’ll also be rescuing survivors and locating hidden stashes, and as augmented games are famed for generating social interaction among players, there will also be weekly challenges where you’ll be able to compete against others.
The Walking Dead: Our World was developed by Next Games, and will be published by AMC Games on July 12. If it looks like something you might enjoy, you can pre-register now.
