Confirmed: THE GALLOWS ACT II is Real and Rated R
A whopping 10 months ago we reported that Blumhouse and friends had secretly filmed a sequel to their hit(?) found footage flick The Gallows and was screening it for test audiences. Well, today we have confirmation that The Gallows Act II is officially on the way.
The confirmation comes to us from our friend and neighbors over at the MPAA who just slapped the movie with an R-rating for “some disturbing violent content.”
No release date has been mentioned thus far. But we do know Ema Horvath, Brittany Falardeau, and Chris Milligan star. And we even have this brief synopsis:
Sequel to The Gallows. After aspiring actress Auna Rue transfers to a prestigious new school, her desires are twisted by a viral challenge capable of conjuring a malevolent spirit.

Synopsis:
In 1993, a freak accident involving a noose kills teenager Charlie Grimille during a high-school production of “The Gallows.” Twenty years later, on the eve of the play’s revival, students Reese (Reese Mishler), Pfeifer (Pfeifer Brown), Ryan (Ryan Shoos) and Cassidy become trapped in the auditorium, with no way of calling for help. A night of terror awaits the four friends as they face the wrath of a malevolent and vengeful spirit. It seems Charlie will have his curtain call after all.
