Blumhouse’s SPAWN Reboot Casts “Lead Role” of Twitch

Jeremy Renner

A few weeks back we let you guys know that Jamie Foxx had scored the title role in Blumhouse’s upcoming reboot of Spawn from creator and writer-director Todd McFarlane. And today we have word (a rumor) on who may be joining Spawn in his quest for vengeance.

That Hashtag Show claims that Jeremy Renner has been offered the part of the film’s lead Twitch Williams, a character described as “an honest detective who will team up with Spawn as he seeks vengeance for the murder of his young daughter.”

This hasn’t been confirmed yet but we will let you know as soon as we hear any more on this potential casting. Are you excited for Renner as Twitch? Make sure to let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Spawn (1997) synopsis:

Covert government assassin Al Simmons (Michael Jai White) is killed after being double-crossed by his boss, Jason Wynn (Martin Sheen). Upon arriving in Hell, Simmons is offered an opportunity to return to Earth if he’s willing to lead an evil army. He accepts and is reincarnated as a “Hellspawn” — a twisted, horribly disfigured version of his former self. However, Spawn serves as a force of good, much to the dismay of the Devil’s henchman, a wicked clown (John Leguizamo).
