#SDCC2018: Sing the Doom Song as INVADER ZIM: ENTER THE FLORPUS Releases a Trailer!

Originally airing in 2001, Nickelodeon’s Invader Zim was a bold move for the family-friendly network. Created by Jhonen Vazquez, the series followed an alien sent to Earth to conquer the planet, enslave the human race, and make his masters on Planet Irk proud. While that sounds innocent enough, in theory, one must remember that Vazquez’s earlier work at Slave Labor Graphics included the comics Squee and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, both of which are very adult-oriented.

So color me surprised that not only did Vazquez get a TV series aimed at children but more than 15 years after its cancellation that it’d also be getting a TV film ushering its return! That film now has a name and it’s Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus.

A trailer with footage was revealed at this year’s San Diego Comic Con and its suitably surreal, odd, and charmingly delightful. Those of us who remember the series will look at this and feel like no time has passed at all. Give it a watch for yourself below to revisit earlier times!

ZIM discovers his almighty leaders have no intention of coming to Earth and he loses confidence in his own amazingness for the first time in his amazing life – which happens to be the big break his human nemesis, Dib, has been waiting for!

Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus does not yet have a release date but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for this one!
