FEARnet has announced that it will air the second season of “Todd & the Book of Pure Evil” starting in March, 2012. “Todd” will continue to be part of FEARnet’s “Twisted Comedy” Block on Tuesday nights, only now it will be paired with the network’s first original production, “Holliston.”

“Todd & the Book of Pure Evil” is a supernatural comedy featuring Jason Mewes (Mallrats, Clerks) that tells the story of a small-town high school kid trying to save the world. The hilariously twisted series also stars Alex House, Maggie Castle, Bill Turnbull, Melanie Leishman and Chris Leavins.

In each episode of “Todd & The Book of Pure Evil,” Todd and his cohorts are pitted against the dark powers of a mysterious book that grants seemingly innocuous wishes with sinister, unexpected, cataclysmic, and downright satanic side effects. The series is created by Craig David Wallace, Charles Picco, and Anthony Leo and was highly successful in its first season on FEARnet. In the second season “Todd & The Book of Pure Evil” will bring fans more grotesque monsters, countless uncomfortably funny situations, and fighting of the nastiest evil.

As for “Holliston”, in case you missed our previous stories about it, it’s an outrageous and offbeat multi-camera, half-hour buddy comedy series starring directors Adam Green (Hatchet, Chillerama, Frozen) and Joe Lynch (Knights of Badassdom, Chillerama, Wrong Turn 2). Created by Green, the sitcom started production in September. The show, set in the town of Holliston, Massachusetts, follows the lives of Adam and Joe, two friends chasing the dream of becoming successful horror movie filmmakers while struggling to make ends meet at a local TV station and dealing with life and the opposite sex.

‘Todd & The Book of Pure Evil’ was extremely successful for us in the first season, and we can’t wait to give fans a second, even more outrageous, season of the show,” said Peter Block, president of FEARnet. “Our new series, ‘Holliston,’ will make an excellent companion to ‘Todd,’ as it is equally scandalous, audacious, and hilarious. Viewers will love it.
