Horror Fighting Game OMEN OF SORROW Punching onto PS4 in November
It’s been a while since we reported on the horror fighting game Omen of Sorrow, although publisher Soedesco just confirmed that it will be released on November 6, so we don’t have too long to wait before we can kick some supernatural butt. Although if you can’t wait until then, it will also be playable at Gamescom from August 21-25.
The PlayStation 4 exclusive will feature twelve playable fighters based on horror, myth, and lore, including Quasimodo, a werewolf, Imhotep the mummy, Frankenstein’s Monster, Mr. Hyde, and a vampire named Vladislav III (basically Dracula). All of the characters will be connected by a complex and intricate storyline, which Soedesco and developer AOne Games promise will be ‘internal struggles, spite and malice’, although if that’s not really your thing, you can always play against other players in online matches instead.
In terms of actual gameplay, Omen of Sorrow will utilize a fairly simple four-button playstyle across atmospheric 2D environments, but don’t let that fool you into letting your guard down, because there will actually be over 250 special combos for you to master as you progress.
Whilst the T rating means that there won’t be much gore, Omen of Sorrow still looks like it will be delivering spooky and fast-paced fun to gamers when it arrives later this year. If you’d like to see it in action, you can check out the release trailer from the official PlayStation YouTube channel below, and don’t forget to give the recent gameplay trailer a watch, too.
