LUIGI’S MANSION Remake Hitting The Nintendo 3DS In Time For Halloween

I have fond memories of vacuuming up ghosts when Luigi’s Mansion was released all the way back in 2001. God, I wish I was still young. Anyway, that’s enough reminiscing about the past, because Nintendo are about to introduce Luigi’s Mansion to a whole new generation of gamers with the upcoming 3DS remake, which arrives just in time for Halloween.

Developed and published by Nintendo, Luigi’s Mansion finally gave Mario’s brother, who had previously only played second fiddle, a leading role. Instead of the usual platforming route, the GameCube launch title instead had Luigi taking in ghosts in a haunted mansion as he searched for Mario, who was kidnapped by Bowser. Produced by Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto, it was a critical and commercial success, and even spawned a sequel, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, in 2013.

Although we saw Luigi’s soul leaving his body when he was struck down by the Grim Reaper in the latest trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Nintendo recently confirmed that he somehow survived, which explains why he’s back to his ghostbusting tricks. The 3DS version of Luigi’s Mansion will be mainly the same as the GameCube classic, which was released so many years ago, albeit with the addition of various new features, including a Gallery Battle Mode, which allows the player to battle against previously defeated bosses.

Luigi’s Mansion will be released on the 3DS in the USA on October 12, and in Europe on October 19, and it will be the perfect Halloween treat for gamers young and old.
