Ryan M. Andrews is preparing to dive into the post-apocalyptic world for his upcoming film Sick. Featuring a diverse cast of newcomers and veterans (including scream queen and Doctor Gash’s #1 crush Debbie Rochon), Sick begins spreading the disease as cameras start rolling this week in Toronto.

In a storyline that seems like a combination of Stephen King’s epic tale The Stand and I Am Legend, Sick drops us into a world where billions have died from a plague and three survivors find themselves struggling against incredible odds as things go from bad to oh shit.

From the Press Release
The feature film Sick, directed by Ryan M. Andrews (Black Eve) and produced by Bruno Marino (Anything Goes), goes to camera in the greater Toronto area this Thursday, November 3rd.

Besides the lead, newcomer Christina Aceto (Let It Out), the latest talent lineup for Sick includes Richard Sutton (Tensions, Lingerie), Robert Nolan (Red: Werewolf Hunter), Maxim model Veronika London (Searching for Angels), and horror scream queen Debbie Rochon (Night of the Living Dead – 30th Anniversary, Tromeo & Juliet).

Rounding out the creative team are director of photography Michael Jari Davidson (Nostrum), who is also producing the film, visual effects supervisor Derek Grime (Fight Club, eXistenZ), fight choreographer Tommy Chang (X-Men, Dawn of the Dead), and Fangoria magazine editor-in-chief Chris Alexander, who is providing the score.

Synopsis:
Two years after the infection began, billions have died, governments have collapsed, and the human race is on the brink of extinction.

Dr. Leigh Rozetta is a young, maverick scientist who’s been living in a secret underground government facility since the outbreak began. After constant failed attempts to find a cure, Leigh sneaks away to return to her parent’s house. On her way she crosses paths with Seph and Mckay, two militant survivalists, who only just barely escaped an attack from a group of infected. With nightfall close at hand, the three of them know they need to seek shelter as the SICK are more active in the dark. Boarding themselves up in Leigh’s parents’ house, the plan is simple: survive the night. But with the SICK surrounding the house and their own tensions through the roof, they’ll be lucky if anyone makes it out alive.
