THE LODGERS Director’s Next Project Announced: IMMACULATE
While each film Dread Central Presents releases is singular in its own way, The Lodgers is uniquely shivery, atmospheric, and Gothic to the core! It’s a slow-burn offering with a conclusion that’s as shocking as it is hallucinatory and simply gorgeous. The Lodgers is directed by Brian O’Malley, who previously impressed horror fans with his modern-day haunted creeper Let Us Prey, released in 2014.
Today brings word on O’Malley next project: He’ll be working with Catapult Entertainment Group on an intense thriller called Immaculate! Deadline got the scoop:
“The script from David R. Flores & J. Hunter Roe centers on a minister who, after a personal tragedy and having his own crisis of faith, is taken captive by a mother who believes her son possesses extraordinary abilities that are rooted in evil.”
It’ll be a while until we get casting news, a target release date, and/or a trailer, but we’re definitely interested in what O’Malley’s got cooking. Check back often for updates. Synopsis:
A family curse confines orphaned twins Rachel and Edwards to their home, in punishment for their ancestors’ sins. Bound to the rules of a haunting childhood lullaby, the twins must never let any outsiders inside the house, must be in their rooms by the chime of midnight, and must never be separated from one another. Breaking any of these rules will incur the wrath of a sinister presence that inhabits the house after midnight.
O’Malley directed The Lodgers from a script penned by David Turpin and stars Charlotte Vega, David Bradley, and Eugene Simon.
