Aliens Eradicate Civil Unrest in First Trailer for CAPTIVE STATE
If politicians can’t soothe our planet’s sociopolitical turmoil, maybe extraterrestrials can. This is the idea posed in the first trailer for Captive State, an alien invasion flick set in Chicago ten years after a global alien invasion. The film is directed by Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) from a script he co-wrote with Erica Beeney (The Battle of Shaker Heights).
Captive State is reminiscent of films like Alien Nation and District 9 except, in this case, humans are the ones being oppressed (although many people don’t seem to realize it). It’s a clear metaphor for the political manipulations of the powers that be, not to mention satire aimed at those who put too much faith in demagogues. Give the synopsis and trailer a look-see below.
Synopsis:
Set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extra-terrestrial force, Captive State explores the lives on both sides of the conflict – the collaborators and dissidents.
No crime. No poverty. No unemployment. The state of our union is strong. #CaptiveState Learn more about The Legislature at https://thelegislaturegov.com/
