DEVIL’S HUNT Co-writer Jeffery Thompson Gives Us An Exclusive Statement
A little while ago we reported on a game called Devil’s Hunt, an adaptation of author Paweł Leśniak’s fantasy horror novel Equilibrium, which was about a war between the forces of Heaven and Hell. Co-writer Jeffery Thompson Jr. recently got in touch with us to describe his input on the project, offering the following statement:
“I want to channel my inner JRR Tolkien with the writing and over all structure of the game. This is my first major game, but coming from a film writing background and having worked on comic books, it’s similar in a few ways. The lore is definitely MAJOR here. The potential is limitless. I’m adding in a couple things to push the plot forward and even renaming characters!
Devil’s Hunt will be a very intriguing game that will allow players to navigate, overcome obstacles, fight demons, and even fight Lucifer himself. The fighting mechanics are similar in a way to Batman Arkham. Desmond is an interesting character and I’m hoping this game goes a great distance and becomes a MAJOR franchise. I can totally see this receiving movie and or TV treatment.”
His statement has certainly got us intrigued, so we intend to keep a close eye on Devil’s Hunt from now on. The game is being developed by Layopi Games and will be published by 1C Company, and from what we’ve seen so far, it will consist of a mix of fast-paced Devil May Cry-style combat and and epic storytelling in the same vein as God of War, so we eagerly await its release towards the end of 2019.
Thompson, meanwhile, is also currently working on developing a feature length horror film called The Legend of Carrico Road.
