Rod Serling’s Forest Fires PSA Plays Like a Terrifying Intro to THE TWILIGHT ZONE
Back in the day, Smokey the Bear had an unlikely ally in his perpetual fight to educate the public about the dangers of forest fires: None other than The Twilight Zone Mastermind Rod Serling! Check out a PSA that was recently unearthed on YouTube below at the bottom of the article.
With his signature hypnotic voice and confident poise, Serling’s narration could just as easily be the intro for a lost episode of The Twilight Zone! Here’s a sample:
“This is the Morgan family coming home from the lake. Ed and Marilyn have been married for 12 years; that’s Kelly-Sue and Casey in the back seat. They’ve driven this road a dozen times before, and nothing ever happened—but today’s different. Today, Ed will become a killer, and here’s his weapon…”
