Meet the Prisoners of the Sun
While cruising around the many layers that make up that wonderful geek resource known as the IMDB, I discovered a movie that I’ve heard neither Jack nor shit about, but sounds like something we’d be giving regular updates on if I had.
It’s called Prisoners of the Sun, and the first significant thing you need to know about it was that it was written by Waxwork director Anthony Hickox, who is himself working on a brand new movie we just updated you on (“Knife Edge Teaser Art, More Plot” – August 2007), and Wishmaster/Hellraiser III penner Peter Atkins, so it’s got some cool genre cred right out of the gate.
So what’s it about? Dig this; an archeological apprentice goes on a hazardous expedition beneath the sands of Egypt, where he and his cohorts have to avoid death traps and kill monsters before reaching a secret older than time itself, ending the thousand year slumber of ancient gods who are now looking to ignite a second sun to cleanse the Earth of human life.
Fucked up, no? I thought so. No word on when it’s coming out or who will be behind it when it does, but I expect you’ll be hearing more about this one in the near future. For now, though, hit up the Prisoners of the Sun IMDB page to check out some more pics and keep it here for more as we learn it!
Ponder how you would end all human life in the Dread Central forums!
