John Carpenter Talks Scoring New HALLOWEEN in Latest Featurette
We’re less than a week away from the US premiere of Halloween, easily the most hotly anticipated horror movie of 2018. John Carpenter’s approval of, and participation in this sequel to his seminal 1978 slasher flick is a huge reason fans are so excited to see what director David Gordon Green and his co-writer Danny McBride have come up with.
Let’s face it: Not all Halloween movies are excellent—some are hardly even good. But everything we’ve heard about 2018’s Halloween (from TIFF and Fantastic Fest) is glowing, and insiders believe the film will make a killing (pun intended) at the box office.
As part of their final promotional push, the folks at Universal recently released a new featurette about Halloween; it features the Master of Horror himself discussing his approach to scoring this latest film in the franchise he launched. It’s a must-watch for anyone who is as fascinated with the music of Halloween as they are with the mythology.
Below that, check out the synopsis and trailer for Halloween; the film stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Nick Castle, and Andi Matichak.
Synopsis:
It’s been 40 years since Laurie Strode survived a vicious attack from crazed killer Michael Myers on Halloween night. Locked up in an institution, Myers manages to escape when his bus transfer goes horribly wrong. Laurie now faces a terrifying showdown when the masked madman returns to Haddonfield, Ill. — but this time, she’s ready for him.
