Netflix & BBC One Sink Their Teeth Into 5 Hour DRACULA Reimagining

Dracula is the most famous vampire in the world and the fanged fiend has been featured in dozens of horror movies. Still, we haven’t seen a substantive reimagining of the Count since Frances Ford Coppola helmed Bram Stoker’s Dracula in 1992. Perhaps Twilight killed vampire fever, or maybe the zombie craze of the 21st Century sent the likes of Vlad into hiding.

Whatever the case, Dracula will be returning to prominence in a new reimagining currently in the works as a collaboration between Netflix and BBC One. It’ll be a 3-part series and each episode will be a whopping 90 minutes, meaning we’ll likely be getting the most extensive examination of Stoker’s iconic monster yet. Per Deadline:

The 90-minute episodes are written and created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss and produced by Hartswood Films. The project has been in the works for some time with the news emerging in June 2017. It will premiere on BBC One in the UK and on Netflix outside of the UK.

We don’t have any casting information or a target release date, but we’ll keep our ears to the ground in order to bring you all Dracula-related news as details emerge. Stay tuned!
