New SCOOBY-DOO Movie Adds Chris Columbus as Creative Producer
Warner Bros. and Warner Animation Group are in negotiations to bring on Chris Columbus as creative producer on a new Scooby-Doo animated movie.
Columbus’ interest in the film started when he was developing the Gremlins reboot. Insiders say his “affection for the character was apparent, and he was soon asked to join the production as a creative producer.”
Variety reports Columbus will be producing with Tony Cervone directing a screenplay written by Kelly Fremon Craig from a draft by Jack Donaldson and Derek Elliott.
The untitled Scooby-Doo movie is full steam ahead with an expected release date in the first quarter of 2020.
